Listing your flipped website can be time-consuming but it certainly pays off in profit if you do it the right way. For some, buying and selling websites is their business and others, it can be their hobby. Either way, you need to know the best places online to list your website for sale.

Because buying and selling websites have become a profitable business online, there are many entrepreneurs who have started up their own home website listing their flipped websites for sale. If you can flip websites, you can definitely whip up your own website quickly. This is a great choice if you want to save money on listing your websites on bidding sites. Because you know about SEO, use it to your advantage and create your own home website that will show up as one of the top sites in a search. When buyers are searching for websites for sale, you will be competing with the larger businesses but there are more and more sole website owners coming up on top in search engines.

When you are ready to list your website(s) for sale, it’s a good idea to have them listed on as many online venues possible. That way, when people are searching Google or another search engine, your website for sale has more chances of it showing up. Of course, it’s dependent on the website content you have but if you’re selling a profitable niche, there are people searching on those keywords. Try using free websites that offer you to list your websites for sale with no fees from you.

Digital Point Forums is a great interactive community that is bustling with entrepreneurs looking to add established and new websites to their collection. It’s free to register where you can list what you have for trade or sale. Once forum users recognize you as a reputable website flipper, you can even create a mailing list when you have new websites for sale.

SitePoint Marketplace is also quite busy in their forums where there are sections on the left-hand side that will appeal to website sellers. From premium websites for sale to established websites for sale, you can list your website for sale for only $19 on Flippa here. Flippa is now the section at SitePoint where you can buy and sell websites. This marketplace may not be free but it’s one of the leading places buyers know where to look for websites to purchase. It’s an auction style starting at a bid of your choice. You can get an idea of how popular this site is by taking a look at the Just Sold section. It gives you an idea of niche sites and prices if you are new SitePoint Marketplace. Do make sure to visit the forums for tips and tricks from other website sellers. You may be even allowed to have the link to your websites for sale on Flippa in your signature if you become interactive in the SitePoint Marketplace forums.

Flippa and DP are, as you say, the most used venues for site sales. They both attract a different kind of seller (and buyer). But they aren’t the only locations. Several webmaster forums have sections where sites are bought and sold. Various huge domain forums have very active sections where there’s active trade in not just domains but websites as well.

The trick to getting a good deal is to look where others are not looking ;)

I’ve compiled a list of locations where sites are bought and sold on my own website if you follow the link in my name.
