TOP 5 Ways To Advertise Your Affiliate Program
Posted on 24. Dec, 2009 by Cory in Affiliate Marketing, Online Business
Advertising your affiliate program can be harder than you think. With many internet entrepreneurs, there are many plugging their own affiliate programs to the hottest affiliate programs. The following are some advertising methods to get your affiliate program out there.
Begin an email mailing list right on your website or blog. Each subscriber can get notified of the latest news, updates, sales and more with you behind the email message. Offer an incentive that follows the niche of your business when asking for new subscribers to sign up to your mailing list. This incentive should be free and easily accessed by subscribers. For example, if you have a website design site, you can offer a free e-book based on web design tricks or design tips for beginners.
Use promotional products to your advantage. If you sell products on your website, always enclose your business card with a small promotional item like a pen. Your pen can be inscribed with your website link that promotes your affiliate program. Try promotional items that are cost-efficient like notepads, stationery, magnets and more. Remember to also have your website address on your address labels when you send orders out to your customers.
Make sure to have your very own domain name. Many who are successful with affiliate programs may not tell you that the way to direct potential customers is to your website. You can easily purchase an inexpensive domain name from a popular place such as GoDaddy. Choose a name that explains the affiliate program that you are trying to sell. For example, if you are an affiliate for a new e-book that teaches newbies how to make money from blogging, then you want to find a domain name geared to that. The domain name should be words that people do searches on so that the search engines will pick up your website easily.
Get involved at online message boards or forums that relate to your business. Most message boards allow you to place your website link into your signature. Get involved with the niche community by writing posts and responding to those you can help with your knowledge. When people start to take notice that you are an expert on the topic, they will soon visit your website to find out more.
Word of mouth is the easiest form of advertising your business. Let people know about your business website. This can include friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and more. Use your social networks offline to promote your website. If you are a student or take part in a new class, do let people know about your online business. This type of advertising is free so use it to your advantage as often as you can. You may be surprised by the leads you get if you follow through with it.
Your affiliate business can be successful with the amount of work you put behind it advertising it. If nobody knows you’re in business, then who will come buy? Promote your affiliate program with a combination of advertising methods on a consistent basis to see results.

You are right, marketing is a very important tool. Marketing will help you generate more traffic into your site. If there is more traffic, there will be more income generated by your website. We must never grow tired of marketing our websites.

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.
