Even during the difficult economic times that we have recently been through, income from the internet is growing. It is projected that by 2015 internet sales will be in the region of a global $300 billion dollars! This presents a significant opportunity for making money at home with affiliate marketing.
My early days in affiliate marketing were filled with frustration. It took me a while to gain focus and grasp what it was that I needed to do to make my first sale. Fortunately I found a very useful source of information and could get going to make a sale within the first few months of trying hard. The thing is, the internet is a very shiney and sparkly place and it’s easy to get distracted by all that is showcased on there. It really is a huge shop window.
This shop window is filled with opportunity, and once I focused, developed a plan of action and commited to it, I found that within a year I was making over $2000 a month.
For those who are interested in getting started with affiliate marketing, then I want to tell you that if I can do it, then you can do it. I didn’t come from a technical computer background, I used to be a carpet seller. By putting in the hard work and by taking action, I feel happy with my level of income and it affords me the ability to live the way I like. My lifestyle includes being able to spend time with my wife when I want to and to spend my winters in the Caribbean.
So how do you get started? Well to get started, really you need these attributes:
i) the ability to follow directions
ii) the eagerness to take action and set goals
iii) commitment to work hard to achieve your goals
There are several good training sources out there, the one that I was fortunate to come across is still in operation and have provided me with training, a community and regular provision of information that has provided me with all that I need to make my income – in combination with my hard work.
You don’t need to have your own products with affiliate marketing, you make a commission on the products belonging to merchants. However what you do need, is to learn how you can connect consumers with the online products that you have decided to sell.
If you are looking around for a product that will provide you with all the education that you need to know about setting up an online business that sells products for vendors then consider this. It should contain:
i) guidance on how to pick which niche/market
ii) education on how to select keywords
iii) how to build a website and prepare it for traffic
iv) how to generate traffic
Take it from me, I’ve been where you are today and I got lucky as I found a set of educational materials that have put me into the position that I’m in now. Do your homework and research to ensure that you don’t pick a training course that is nothing more than a money making scheme for the vendor.
If you are serious about working from home and earning a good income, then affiliate marketing might just be what you are looking for.
